show business is not run by jews, or by any one group. there is an overrepresentation of both jews and gays in the entertainment industry (and the arts in general), for one simple reason: they are both "invisible" minorities, that is, minorities whom you can't spot as such on the street (with the exception of orthodox jews, who not only can be spotted but have nothing to do with show business). anyone who suffers from social discrimination and is in a position to hide is going to have, as individuals and as a group, a tendency toward self-examination and identity discovery. who am i? what does it mean? the arts provide an outlet for expressing the true self, which is important for everyone and doubly important when you can't find, or are discouraged against, full expression in other areas of your life.

but overrepresentation doesn't equal control unless you're talking representation-based votes.

when there were university and hiring quotas against jews and they were thus underrepresented, did you ask anyone "why do nonjews control the universities, why did nonjews control corporations?"

Is that a fact? Or is it your opinion? Yes, there are many Jewish people in show business. That does not mean they "run" show business. And maybe it's because we're better at doing those kinds of jobs...I don't know. Would you have a problem if I asked "why is the airline industry run by Christians"? Ridiculous question, isn't it?
